Patiala is fun - the rangrez on the streets,
the main bazaar @ 22 number fatak- its the best shaadi shopping stopover this side of the ganges!
also get the yummiest rusks (with adrak wali chai) @ Sahni bakery

architecturally great! a couple of haveli's across the main market
also to see is the Baradari(12 gateways) gardens ( i hear a boutique hotel is coming up here ...)
Qila Mubarik pur !love its name - celebrating victory
its a live monument, an entire city exists inside as Qila Androon
have yet to visit it myself

Patiala - pati(a strip of land) owned by Ala singh (the founder of Patiala)
Interestingly his ancestors migrated from Rajasthan

the Rajasthan Tourism lists these as heritage properties
surprisingly no mention of Umaid Bhawan
