India's most refined craft undoubtedly is textiles. The colors of textiles most vibrant
rajasthan's tie-dye & lehariya techniques, ikat of andhra, patola of gujarat...
indigo was one of the major trade items for the East India Company.

"rangrez" is used here, as a catalyst in forwarding crafts of India. by mixing various materials & knowledge the idea is to contemporise products and find new markets.

this work is a contemporary styling based on the work done traditionally by the lambani women.
the "lambani" are gypsies who have now more or less settled down in part of karnataka, maharashtra. in andhra they are known as "banjaras" & in nepal they are known as "rana tharu"
